With no map in hand (the best way to go sometimes!)… a wander up into the heart of the mass of big buildings that tower over & comprise downtown Auckland. In search of a good cup of coffee with my friend Francis, before searching for the mountain gear shop (Bivouac) and speaking with my new friends at Magic – where I would begin the composition of my month in New Zealand. So I took to the “Spirit of NZ” route… so I’ll be hopping on/off a backpacker bus all over the country – N. & S. Island… f-f-f-reedom (from extensive thinking and lack of ability to get somewhere!) ROCK ON! …so I figured I’d begin this freedom journey with an attempt to walk back to where I came from – without the map (I never had in the 1st place!)
