It feels like home to me… People are up at the crack of dawn… with kayaks or surfboards atop their cars and cruising towards the beach prior to sunrise… others are already on their way back running along the National Park’s coastal boardwalk & trails, shortly after sunrise… and some are just happy with a beach workout and swim in frigid water far before any typical body would naturally desire this experience… and everyone tends to filter towards the cappuccino laden cafes and smoothie bars… and we haven’t even reached 8am!... it certainly reminds me of the training Ironman athletes in the Lake Placid region – out riding bikes via headlamp in the middle of the night and filing into the cafes for a bagel and hot drink thereafter! FANTASTIC!
With the entire day left ahead… hike, bike, hiked some more… spend time with friends… enjoy a hot shower… and hope to find a Koala bear tomorrow – since I couldn’t spot one today!
Kerri & I randomly ran into Julia on the street – we hadn’t seen each other since Byron Bay a few days back… such a treat (and even moreso, since she was up & walking again!) We didn’t realize she’d be in Noosa! Nor did any of us realize that we would actually be there too! ;)
We teamed up the following morning to walk to the forest in search of Koala’s once again… and thank’s to our friend Brigit – I saw my first wild Koala ever! Too, too cute! He was curled up on the v-section of a branch in the tree above a hiking tail… kind of waking up, but not doing too much!
