Twisted Sista was so fabulous the day beofre (when Julia and I discovered it,) that Kerri and I decided to begin our day with a cup of coffee from there, followed by a sunshine-filled journey up the coastal trail to Byron Bay's beautiful lighthouse! Every spot along the trail offered gorgeous blues of the turquoise & green waters below... surfers peacefully awaiting the next perfect slow-rolling wave... humback whales in the distance... dolphins surfacing in groups... sea turtles and large mantarays floating in the perfectly clear water for our viewing... and sharks too!!! It was wild! I have never encountered so much excitement from one rocky point in my life!
Our experience certainly supercharged our day -- we topped it off with a lovely brekky (back at Twisted Sista, of course!) and then moved Kerri's stuff into the dorm with Julia and I at the Belongil Beachouse, before renting some sweet orange beach cruises and riding out to the end of Tallow Beach and into some neighborhoods and then out to the other side of Byron Bay in search of the Byron Bay Cookie Company... for being such a popular place, neither of us were impressed with their cookies -- bum deal! At least our ride was fantastic and the quest (for a cookie, of all things) was thrilling too! ;)
The town was pretty quiet this evening and we found a little spot to grab a wonderful glass of Australian wine and enjoy a nice meal before the absolute downpour of rain arrived.... this would only be the beginning of the wet...
