After hearing rave things about this town (New Zealand’s 1st city ever, in fact!) from Karen & Andrew in Bali, and then a few other friends I met along the way… I was filled with anticipation for an outstanding experience… so I decided to spend a few nights here. (Seeing Nelson's "live the day" sign as we entered the city said it all!!!)
I was fortunate enough to get to enjoy a beautiful hostel (Accents on the Park,) just off the end of Trafalgar St. (the main St.) and within walking distance of everything… including the hill where the center-point of New Zealand can be found… this hill was quite steep for its brevity! With the sun setting over Abel Tasman and the girls practicing rugby in the park below… looking down over the town of Nelson, from the center, it was without-a-doubt that I could thrive living in a place like this… such a special little spot! AND (there’s more!)... Abel Tasman National Park is easily within reach for all sorts of day-trips!
